\nNARRATOR: (Lord Canterville and Mr.Otis are in the castle library)
\nLORD CANTERVILLE:\u00a0I have to tell you that we have seen the ghost.
\nMR. OTIS: I\u00a0 really don\u2019t care, Lord Canterville, I\u2019ll buy the castle anyway, including the ghost.
\nLORD CANTERVILLE: I must insist, there\u2019s a ghost in the castle, that\u2019s why we can\u2019t live here anymore.\u00a0 It has been here for more than three centuries!.\u00a0 My wife can\u2019t even sleep at night because of the strange noises.

\nNARRATOR: (they shake hands and both head to the door and leave)
\nSCENE II<\/strong>
\nNARRATOR: (The Otis family are in the castle having dinner)
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0There\u2019s a red stain on the floor.
\nNARRATOR: (Mrs. Otis rings a bell and the maid enters the room)
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0I see that someone dropped something on the floor.
\nMAID:\u00a0Yes, madam, it\u2019s a blood stain.
\nMRS. OTIS: How terrible!. I don\u2019t want to see blood stains in the floor.\u00a0 Clean it up immediately!.
\nMAID:\u00a0I\u2019ll clean it up, but it won\u2019t disappear, at least not forever.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0Why not?.\u00a0 What do you mean?.
\nMAID:\u00a0The stain belongs to Mrs. Eleanore de Canterville.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0Eleanore de Canterville?. Who was she?.
\nMAID:\u00a0She passed away in 1575, on that very spot.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0How did she died?.
\nMAID:\u00a0Her husband took her life away.

\nMAID: Sir Simon de Canterville, her husband, lived here nine years after her death, but then he disappeared, and his body was never recovered. His soul still lives in the castle. Many people, including tourists have seen that stain, but it\u2019s impossible to remove it, at least, not until Sir Simon de Canterville rests in peace; then the stain will disappear forever!.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0That\u2019s all nonsense.
\nMR. OTIS:\u00a0I\u2019ll clean it up myself.
\nNARRATOR: (Mr. Otis leaves the room and comes back with a liquid stain remover and detergent.\u00a0 He kneels down and cleans the stain.\u00a0 The stain disappears)<\/p>\nMR. OTIS:\u00a0See?.\u00a0 It disappeared!.
\nNARRATOR: (There\u2019s thunder and the maid screams)
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0Don\u2019t be afraid.
\nMAID:\u00a0I have seen him with my own eyes.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0There\u2019s no ghost in here.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0Go to your room and try to rest, we\u2019ll see you in the morning.
\nNARRATOR: (The maid leaves the room and Mr. and Mrs. Otis keep looking at the floor where the stain was.\u00a0 Thunder continues to strike.\u00a0 They leave the room)
\nSCENE III<\/strong>
\nNARRATOR: (Mr. and Mrs. Otis and Virginia are in the dining room having breakfast.\u00a0 They see the stain once again)
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0The stain!.
\nMR. OTIS:\u00a0I\u2019ll clean it up again!.
\nNARRATOR: (Mr. Otis cleans the stain.\u00a0 The stain disappears.\u00a0 Suddenly the door opens and a ghost with long grey hair, ragged clothes, and chains enters the room.\u00a0 Mrs. Otis screams)
\nMR. OTIS: Excuse me ghost, but your chains make a lot of noise.!. I think they need some oil.\u00a0 I\u2019ll give you some.
\nNARRATOR: (Mr. Otis gives the oil to the ghost.\u00a0 The ghost takes the oil and throws it to the floor.\u00a0 Then he flies down the corridor.\u00a0 At the end of the hall a door opens suddenly and the twins showed up throwing big pillows to the ghost, who disappears through the wall \/backstage)
\nMR. OTIS:\u00a0(to the twins)\u00a0You shouldn\u2019t have done that!.
\nTWINS:\u00a0Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
\nMR. OTIS:\u00a0If he refuses to oil the chains, then I have to take them off.
\nMRS. OTIS:\u00a0Or we will not be able to sleep at night.

\nNARRATOR: (He approaches the other ghost which has a paper hanging with a written message. The Canterville Ghost reads it)
\nGHOST: I am the Otis Ghost.\u00a0 The only and original.\u00a0 All other ghosts are imitations. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.<\/p>\n
NARRATOR: (The ghost is furious.\u00a0 He goes to his room.\u00a0 When he opens the door a bucket with blue paint falls over his head.\u00a0 The twins get out of his bed laughing and they get out of the room)
\nGHOST: I can\u2019t stand this family!.\u00a0 They don\u2019t care!.\u00a0 They don\u2019t deserve the blood stain!. \u00a0How did they get into my room?.
\nNARRATOR: (He locks the door and sits.\u00a0 There\u2019s\u00a0 a noise.\u00a0 Virginia tries to open the door with a key)
\nGHOST:\u00a0Someone is trying to open the door!.
\nNARRATOR: (The door opens and Virginia enters the room)
\nVIRGINIA:\u00a0Oh, Mr. Ghost, I feel so sorry for you.\u00a0 Please forgive my family.
\nGHOST:\u00a0Those kids are so disrespectful!.
\nVIRGINIA: I have good news for you.\u00a0 My brothers will not be here tomorrow, so they will not bother you.\u00a0 Please, try to behave.
