Destaca su Castillo Templario, situado en la margen derecha del r\u00edo Nab\u00e3o. El castillo formaba parte durante la Reconquista de la llamada L\u00ednea del Tajo, junto con otros castillos de la regi\u00f3n, todos de la misma \u00e9poca y estilo: Almourol, Idanha, Monsanto, Pombal y Z\u00eazere. Alberga en su interior el Convento de Cristo, al que serv\u00eda de protecci\u00f3n. Est\u00e1 clasificado como Monumento Nacional desde el 23 de junio de1918 y, junto con el Convento de Cristo, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco desde el 30 de junio de
