When Europe Becomes More Than an Idea<\/p>\n\n\n

In Oslo, our 1st Bachillerato students discovered that Erasmus+ is much more than travelling: it is an opportunity to see the world through new perspectives. Together with their peers from Edvard Munch Videreg\u00e5ende Skole, they shared classrooms, debates and learning experiences that encouraged them to reflect on democracy, participation and the role of education in building more inclusive societies. Exploring Norway\u2019s historical and cultural heritage also helped them gain a deeper understanding of the richness and diversity that shape our shared European identity. Through meaningful exchanges, international friendships and collaborative activities, this mobility strengthened their intercultural competences, teamwork skills and sense of belonging to a Europe united by common values and open dialogue between cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their Erasmus+ mobility at IIS Medardo Rosso in Lecco, our 4th ESO students experienced first-hand how learning can cross borders, languages and cultures. Working alongside Italian peers in creative writing workshops, science lessons and collaborative STEM activities, they discovered new ways of learning, communicating and solving problems together. Visits to the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan and the inspiring landscapes of Lake Como encouraged them to connect scientific innovation, cultural heritage and everyday life. Through shared experiences, international friendships and collaborative learning, students strengthened their creativity, scientific curiosity and intercultural competences, while deepening their sense of belonging to a European community built on cooperation, diversity and lifelong learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spending an extended period at Liceo Scientifico Annibale Calini in Brescia offered our 1st Bachillerato student a unique opportunity to experience Europe not as a visitor, but as an active member of another school and community. By attending classes, engaging with new teaching approaches and sharing everyday life with Italian peers, she developed greater independence, adaptability and confidence in multilingual and intercultural environments. This reciprocal mobility encouraged her to explore different perspectives, strengthen her critical thinking skills and deepen her understanding of European cultural heritage. Beyond academic learning, the experience fostered personal growth, resilience and a stronger sense of belonging to a diverse and interconnected Europe built on shared values, mutual respect and lifelong learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their Erasmus+ mobility at Agrupamento de Escolas Henriques Nogueira in Torres Vedras, our 3rd ESO students experienced how learning extends far beyond the classroom. Working alongside Portuguese peers, they explored new educational environments, shared perspectives and strengthened their intercultural understanding. From discovering the rich cultural heritage of Portugal to reflecting on sustainability at the Ocean\u00e1rio de Lisboa and exploring the coastal landscapes of Praia Azul, every activity encouraged them to connect knowledge with real-world challenges. Through collaboration, environmental awareness and meaningful cultural exchange, students developed a deeper sense of European citizenship and gained a greater appreciation of the values of cooperation, diversity and sustainability that unite our communities across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Liceo Scientifico Annibale Calini in Brescia, a school renowned for its strong academic tradition and commitment to scientific and humanistic education, our teachers explored how innovative practices can thrive within a long-established educational culture. Through classroom observations, professional dialogue and collaboration with Italian colleagues, they gained valuable insights into teaching methodologies, student engagement and inclusive learning environments. Beyond the exchange of educational practices, the mobility fostered reflection on shared European challenges and opportunities in education. At Kabata\u015f Erkek Lisesi, one of Istanbul\u2019s most historic and prestigious schools, our teachers experienced first-hand the power of international cooperation in education. Through classroom observations, professional dialogue and meetings with school leaders and teaching staff, they explored innovative approaches to student engagement, inclusion and collaborative learning. Beyond the exchange of educational practices, this job shadowing offered a unique opportunity to reflect on how different cultures address common educational challenges. Set in a city that bridges Europe and Asia, the mobility fostered intercultural understanding, professional growth and the creation of lasting partnerships, reinforcing our commitment to building a more innovative, inclusive and internationally connected school community through Erasmus+.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Agrupamento de Escolas Henriques Nogueira, our Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher explored an educational environment where innovation, inclusion and creativity are closely connected. Through classroom observations, professional meetings and visits to learning spaces such as the school library and FabLab (a digital fabrication laboratory), participants gained first-hand insight into how educational innovation can support student engagement and personal development. Special attention was given to inclusive practices, including accessible learning resources and initiatives designed to ensure participation for all learners. The mobility also provided opportunities to observe interdisciplinary projects, digital technologies and creative activities that encourage collaboration, problem-solving and active learning. Through dialogue with school leaders, teachers and staff, participants reflected on how innovation and inclusion can be integrated into everyday school life, strengthening their professional competences and reinforcing the value of European cooperation in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reciprocal mobilities are at the heart of the Erasmus+ experience, transforming international partnerships into meaningful and lasting educational relationships. Throughout the project, our school had the pleasure of welcoming students and teachers from Edvard Munch Videreg\u00e5ende Skole in Oslo (Norway), hosting a long-term mobility student from Liceo Scientifico Annibale Calini in Brescia (Italy), and receiving a group of students and teachers from IIS Medardo Rosso in Lecco (Italy). These exchanges created valuable opportunities for shared learning, cultural immersion and international collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By opening our classrooms and school community to our European partners, we fostered intercultural dialogue, strengthened our international dimension and promoted the values of cooperation, inclusion and mutual respect. The experience enriched both visitors and hosts, helping to build lasting friendships, deepen cultural understanding and reinforce a shared sense of European citizenship. Through these reciprocal mobilities, Erasmus+ became a living experience that brought Europe closer to our school and our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
