Esta fecha marca el aniversario de la histórica «Declaración Schuman ( https://european-union.europa.eu/principles-countries-history/history-eu/1945-59/schuman-declaration-may-1950_es )», en la que este expuso su idea de una nueva forma de cooperación política en Europa, que haría inconcebible la guerra entre naciones europeas.
