THE MONASTERY

On December 14, 2023, the 5th grade students went to the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

This Monastery was ordered to be built by Philip II to commemorate the Battle of San Quintín (1577)

First, the students left the school and went walking through the Casita Del Príncipe park until they reached the outskirts of the Monastery. Afterwards, they ate their lunch and played a fun game there.

Then, they went inside and gave them devices with which they could listen to the guide even if they were far away. Next, they went to a room that, if you go to a corner and another person goes to another corner and talks to you, you can hear them perfectly!

That’s why it’s called The Room Of Secrets.

Later, they went on to visit EL PANTEON, were all the kings and queens of Spain, from the Habsburg dinasty, were buried.

They also visited Felipe II ´s rooms and the huge and beautiful library, which was one of the most important libraries in the 16th century!

THEY LEARNED A LOT!!!!!!!
