Hello! My name is Erin Baumgartner, and I am originally from Pennsylvania, in the United States. I grew up traveling often with my family, both to Austria where my father is from, and to new places. I have always loved learning about new cultures and languages and have had the opportunity to live in the UK (1 year) and Chile (5 months). I hope to share this passion for travel, culture, and language with the students at Gabriela Mistral Primary School, where I have already been a language assistant for 6 months and am now returning for another year! In my free time, I love to paint, cook, spend time outside, read, and travel.

My name is Eliza Green and I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have always wanted to teach somewhere outside of America, and am so excited to be working with the youngest students at Gabriela Mistral. I studied Education in college and taught first grade for three years in Rhode Island. I also played soccer in college and I have been playing since I arrived in Madrid which has been so fun! In my free time I also like to read, try new restaurants and cafes,and go to the beach. I am excited to explore more of Spain and Madrid in my time here, and hopefully improve my Spanish as well!

Hi, my name is Alexander Hollenshead! I am from Dallas, Texas in the United States and recently graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California with a degree in International Business. I was born in Michigan and moved to Barcelona shortly after with my family. I love to run, hike, and be outside as well as cook for friends and family. I am excited to work with the teachers and help the students learn English!

Hi! My name is Emily, and I’m from New York City. I earned a master’s degree and worked as a lead teacher there for three years, mainly teaching reading and writing. I really enjoy teaching the English language and helping kids build their skills. In my free time, I love traveling, making music, and doing other creative activities like painting and drawing. I’m excited to be part of this new experience, to get to know the students and the school community, and to explore Madrid!
